We have prepared and submitted the mid-term report to the funding authority. In brief, during the first 18 months, the project has been working on the following research themes: 1) understanding of the user needs and user behavior in remote schools, 2) development and evaluation of a distant collaboration platform for remote schools, 3) development and evaluation of video navigation tools with a focus on video-taped lectures, 4) evaluation and continuous assessment of new media in schools, such as student laptop, interactive blackboard, and multitouch surfaces. Moreover, the project has been disseminating the results in numerous publications.
